One of the most interesting hobbies is that of listening to a communications scanner. More than listening to the police and fire departments, scanning hobbyists listen to everything from the weather, ham radio, amusement park and public park communications, to radio and television reporters in the field.

This page of links points to various places on the Internet where scanning and ham radio pages are found. Some of these are decidedly "local" in origin, which can make it more fun to visit some of these locations with your scanner. Perhaps you will find some unknown frequencies in your own neighborhood.
