And now for something completely different. In the interest of providing essential, narrowcasting services, I am turning my Internet radio station's clock back to 1969. Yes, those days before Y2K, before hard-drive automation and corporate-conglomeration radio, before voice tracking and the loss of local service. Well, I can't promise the local angle, but if you tune in to the Hits of Yesterday on Wednesday after 7 GMT or 12 midnight EDT, you'll hear several hundred hits from the Top 40 throughout 1969. Let me know what you think.
I went to a concert at the Washington County Fair in Wyoming (Rhode Island) on Saturday, and saw the multi-talented Pam Tillis sing. She belies the country label, and for me, I think she heard more than country growing up as the daughter of Mel Tillis, the great country singer and songwriter. If you get the chance to see her, or pick up her new CD, you won't be disappointed.
And, check out her web site for the video, "So Wrong." A sultry, bluesy lament that will make you melt.
À la prochaine,
